Over 800 students took part in the Mylapore Club-Murugappa State level children’s chess competition last week. The event featured players in the age group of 2.5 to 19 years. Schools from Kanyakumari, Salem, Vellore, Thiruvallur, Kanchipuram and Chennai took part. The prizes included bicycles, trophies and cash awards.

The prizes were distributed by the Chief Guest K.B Srinivasan, Vice President, TI Cycles, Mr. R Srivatsan, Chief Arbiter of the Tournament.

V.M. Ramalingam, Organising Secretary, Mylapore Club, proposed a vote of thanks.
