Montra bicycles, the performance brand of TI Cycles has launched their 2012 range of MTB, Hybrid and Road cycles, including the Montra Rock, Montra JazzA and the Montra Blue.
The Montra Rock MTB features alloy tubing, 80mm Suntour coil fork and small block tread, and is priced at Rs 16,900.
The Montra JazzA (re-designed Jazz) is a hybrid bike for track and trail with alloy construction for nimble handling and light weight, priced at Rs 16,900.
The Montra Blues features fast 700c wheels and an alloy hybrid frame with increased strength, rigidity and torsional resistance making it light and versatile in nature. The frame is inspired by mountain bikes for an upward riding posture, improved visibility and riding comfort. It costs Rs 19,900.
The launch began at 6am with a ride to Rajpath and back. led by Chandhok on a Montra Blues cycle.
At the launch, TI Cycles brand ambassador for the Montra range, Karun Chandhok said, “I rode the new hybrid bike Montra Blues and was fascinated by its ride comfort, design and paint finish. The ride was very comfortable on the Blues and Montra has created world class bikes with frame geometry suited for Indians. Knowing that these frames are indigenously manufactured in India, is a remarkable feat by TI Cycles.”
In March 2011, Montra unveiled its first carbon frame bicycle developed and manufactured in house. In its second year of operation the company is looking to capture close to 15 per cent of the performance bicycle market in India.
The new range of Montra bicycles are manufactured at the aluminum bicycle factory in Ambattur, Tamil Nadu where production is being increased to achieve full utilisation.
